Built in 1934 to replace an earlier light, the west pierhead light at the entrance to Oswego Harbour stands on a caisson at the end of a 2000 foot long breakwater extending a half mile into Lake Ontario. Automated in 1968 and curently solar powered. the light continues to operate as an aid to navigation. The building is being restored. Leased by the H. Lee White Maritime Museum from the city of Oswego, limited public access (tours) are likely in the near future
Digital photography has opened a whole new world for me, and I find that I am enjoying it again. Most of my work is done in a studio, but I get out and do landscape and scenics when I have the opportunity. I will let my images speak for themselves as I post them here.
